Who we are

Tessik is a small web design business based at Tuckmill Upper, Baltinglass, Co. Wicklow, W91 AH32, Ireland. We are responsible for the personal information described on this page. You can contact us at info@tessik.ie.

What we collect

When you send a quote request, we store:

• What you type into the form: your name, email, company name, what your business does, links, budget and notes.
• The options you tick: the type of project, the features you want and your timing.
• That you agreed to our Terms and this Privacy Policy, the exact wording you agreed to, and which version was live at the time.
• Recorded automatically: the date and time of your request, your IP address, and your browser and device type.

You need to give your name and email so we can send your quote; everything else on the form is optional.

If you email us or message us on Instagram, we use your details and message to reply. Instagram messages are also held by Meta, under Meta's own privacy policy.

If you become a client, we also keep your billing details, invoices, and the emails and files for your project.

Browsing the site doesn't create a record in our database. Our host, Vercel, keeps short-term technical logs (including IP addresses) to keep the site secure and working; we don't use them to identify visitors.

Why we use it

• To prepare and send your quote and reply to you — because you asked us to (steps before entering a contract).
• To keep an accurate record of your request — what was asked for, when, and what was agreed — so either of us can refer back to it if there's ever a disagreement (our legitimate interest in protecting both parties).
• To manage your project, invoices and payments if you become a client — to carry out our contract with you, and because tax law requires us to keep financial records.

We never sell your information or use it for advertising. We don't send marketing emails or newsletters.

Who has access

Apart from Tessik, only these providers store or process your information, on our behalf:

• Neon — our database, on servers in Frankfurt, Germany (EU), where quote requests are stored.
• Vercel — our website host; quote requests are handled by its servers in Frankfurt too.
• GitHub — where we keep copies of client websites' files.
• Zoho — our email provider, using its EU service, for emails you send us.
• Meta (Instagram) — if you message us there.
• Our accountant — for client invoices and financial records.

GitHub and Meta are based in the US. Both are certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognises as giving personal data the same level of protection as in the EU.

How long we keep it

We keep quote requests for 6 years after our last contact with you, so the record is available if a question about the work ever comes up. After that it is deleted.

Client invoices and financial records are kept for 6 years after the end of the tax year they relate to, as Irish tax law requires.

Keeping it safe

Your information is sent over an encrypted connection, quote requests are stored on EU servers, and access is limited to Tessik and the providers listed above. No system is completely secure, but we take care to protect it.

Sharing

We'll only share your information if the law requires it (for example a request from a court or Revenue) or if you ask us to.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• Show you the information we hold about you.
• Correct anything that's wrong.
• Delete your information (unless we need to keep it to deal with a legal claim).
• Stop or limit how we use it.
• Object to how we use it.
• Give you a copy in a common file format.

Email info@tessik.ie and we'll respond within one month. We may need to check your identity before acting on a request. If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.

Cookies

This site doesn't set any cookies.

Other things to know

Our services aren't aimed at anyone under 18. We don't use automated decision-making or profiling.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the version at the top of this page. Every quote request records which version was live when it was sent.
