Terms of service.
VERSION 2026-10-01
About these terms
These terms apply when you request a quote from, or work with, Tessik, a web design business based at Tuckmill Upper, Baltinglass, Co. Wicklow, W91 AH32, Ireland. By ticking the box on our quote form, you confirm you've read and agree to them.
We work with businesses and with private individuals. Where something applies differently if you're buying as a private individual (a consumer), we say so.
Quotes
- Requesting a quote is free and doesn't commit you to anything.
- We aim to send a fixed, itemised quote within 48 hours of your request.
- A quote is valid for 14 days from the date we send it.
- The quoted price is fixed. It only changes if you ask for work that wasn't in the quote, and we'll always agree any change with you in writing first.
- We're not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added — the quoted price is the total you pay.
- Please make sure the details you send us are accurate — we price the work based on them.
Starting work and payment
Work starts once you approve the quote in writing (email is fine).
- There's no deposit.
- We invoice the full quoted price once your site is finished and you've approved it.
- Payment is due within 14 days of the invoice, and your site goes live once payment is received.
Changes during the build
Your quote includes two rounds of changes before launch — please send each round as one list. Extra rounds, or features that weren't in the quote, are quoted separately before we start them.
If a project stalls
If we're waiting on you (for content, feedback or approval) and don't hear back for 30 days, we'll pause the project and let you know. If we still haven't heard from you 60 days after that, we'll close the project and invoice only for the work completed so far — never more than the quoted price.
Cancelling and refunds
- You can cancel at any time. If you cancel before we start work, there's nothing to pay.
- If you cancel after work has started, we'll invoice only for the work completed so far, based on your itemised quote — never more than the full quoted price.
- Because you only pay once you've approved the finished site, payments aren't refundable unless the law gives you a right to a refund (for example the 14-day right below). If anything we built doesn't work as agreed, we'll fix it free of charge.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
If you're buying as a private individual
If you're buying as a consumer, you can cancel within 14 days of accepting your quote, without giving a reason. To cancel, email us at info@tessik.ie saying you want to cancel (we'll include a cancellation form with your quote confirmation).
If you ask us to start work during those 14 days, you'll pay for the work done up to the point you cancel, and once the work is fully completed the right to cancel ends. We'll refund anything due within 14 days of your cancellation, using the same payment method.
Early bird offer
Request your quote by 31 October 2026 (Irish time) and we'll take €100 off the quoted build price. One discount per client, applied to your final invoice. It can't be exchanged for cash.
Your part
- Send us the content, logins and feedback we need in reasonable time — delays on either side can move the launch date.
- Only give us text, photos and logos that you own or have permission to use.
- If you're a business customer and someone makes a claim against us because of content you gave us, you'll cover our reasonable costs.
Ownership
Once the work is paid for, your website's content and files belong to you, and we'll send you a copy of the files whenever you ask. Your domain is paid for by you, so it's yours too. Some features use third-party services (such as booking or payment providers), which stay under those providers' own terms.
Showing our work
We may show your finished site in our portfolio and on our social media, and add a small "Site by Tessik" link in its footer. If you'd rather we didn't, just tell us.
Aftercare
We include 30 days of small fixes and tweaks after launch at no extra cost. After that, minor changes are included in your monthly plan, and bigger changes are quoted before we start.
Hosting and upkeep
After launch, we host and look after your site for the monthly fee shown in your quote. This covers hosting (we use Vercel and pay them directly), keeping your site online and secure, and keeping copies of its latest files. Minor changes — such as updating prices, menus or opening hours — are included. Bigger changes, new pages or new features are quoted before we start.
- Your domain stays in your name and you pay for it.
- You can cancel the monthly plan at any time with 30 days' notice — we'll send you your site's files and help you move it to a new host.
- We'll give you at least 30 days' notice of any price change.
- If the monthly fee goes unpaid, we may take the site offline after giving you 14 days' notice.
Copies of your site
We keep a copy of your site's most recent files on our own computer and in a private online repository (GitHub), so we can restore it if something goes wrong. This doesn't cover content or data held by other services your site uses.
Your customers' data
When we host or look after your site, we may handle personal data on your behalf — for example messages sent through your contact form. When we do, we:
- only use it to provide our services and follow your instructions;
- keep it confidential and secure;
- use trusted providers to help (currently Vercel for hosting and GitHub for site files) and tell you before adding new ones;
- let you know without delay if we become aware of a data breach;
- help you answer your customers' requests about their data;
- delete or return it when our services end.
Your site and the law
We build your site with reasonable care, but we don't give legal advice. You're responsible for your site's content and for making sure it meets the laws that apply to your business — for example privacy, cookie and consumer rules.
Browsers and devices
Sites are built for the current versions of the main browsers (Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox) on phones, tablets and computers.
Content we won't host
We won't build or host sites with illegal, harmful or misleading content, and we may take a site offline if it breaks the law.
Confidentiality
We keep anything you share with us in confidence and only use it for your project.
Liability
We build every site with reasonable care and skill. To the extent the law allows:
- Our total liability for anything to do with our work is limited to the price you paid for your website.
- We're not liable for indirect or knock-on losses, such as lost profits, lost sales, lost data or damage to your reputation.
- We're not liable for outages, downtime or data loss caused by hosting providers, domain registrars, other third-party services, or anything else outside our reasonable control.
- We can't guarantee your site will always be available, or that it will reach a particular position in Google or other search engines.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, or affects your statutory rights.
Events outside our control
Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as serious illness, outages at our providers or extreme weather. We'll keep you updated and agree new timings.
Your information
How we store and use the details you send us is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with anything, email us at info@tessik.ie and we'll reply within 5 working days.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland.
The legal bits
Your quote and these terms make up our whole agreement. If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later. If we update these terms, the version that was live when you accepted your quote applies to your project.
